The Least Biased Financial News Sources
Financial news can lean in two different ways. Political lean reflects left/right perspectives. Industry tilt reflects whose interests and claims lead the story.
A report may take companies’ and markets’ framing at face value, or lead with consumer, worker and regulator concerns. An outlet rated center politically can still lean toward industry in its business coverage.
CadNews measures this second dimension on Business & Finance stories. The saved framing sample below combines business and tech articles; the coverage count is business-only. Ratings are starting points, not verdicts.
Financial news outlets compared
Outlets are ordered by political lean: center first, then lean-left and lean-right, then left and right. Within each group, higher factual ratings come first. Wire services lead when ratings tie, followed by alphabetical order. Sample availability and industry/skeptic framing do not affect rank.

How to read financial news well
- Check the numbers. Look for original filings, data releases and dates, not just a percentage without context.
- Separate reporting from press releases. Ask whether company claims are checked against independent evidence.
- Compare a wire with a specialist. A broad factual account and a deeper industry report may reveal different omissions.
- Watch “beat” and “miss” framing. Analyst expectations are not the same as a company’s underlying health or its impact on workers.
- Look at who is quoted. Executives, investors, workers, consumers and regulators bring different interests to the same numbers.
How we measure this
Coverage counts include non-opinion articles present in our feeds over a rolling 30-day window, not everything an outlet published. Framing percentages use only outlet articles with explicit saved industry, skeptic or balanced assessments; “neutral” here means balanced, not absence of bias. Business and tech share this lens. Missing or unclear assessments are excluded, and rounded percentages may not total 100%.
These automated estimates are not factual-reliability scores. Read our methodology or compare current Business & Finance coverage.
Frequently asked questions
What is the least biased financial news source?
No outlet is entirely neutral. Associated Press and Reuters lead this guide’s ranking and are rated center with high factual reporting in our registry. The ranking uses political lean, then factual rating, with wire services first when ratings tie and alphabetical order within each group. Saved sample availability and industry/skeptic framing do not affect the order. A center political rating is not proof of balanced business reporting.

Not enough analyzed business stories yet. The framing sample combines business and tech articles; these automated estimates are not an overall verdict on the outlet.

What’s the difference between political bias and industry bias in business news?
Political lean concerns left/right political framing. Industry bias concerns whether reporting adopts company and market claims or emphasizes consumer, worker and regulator concerns. CadNews’s saved business/tech lens assesses industry-leaning, skeptic or balanced framing for each included outlet article; a center political rating does not guarantee neutral industry framing.
