The Least Biased Crypto News Sources
Crypto news has a different slant problem than politics. An outlet can be owned by an exchange or crypto company, mix sponsored posts and press releases with reporting, or present price speculation as news.
CadNews measures labeled promotional content and price predictions in RSS feeds, and separates confirmed facts, company claims and speculation in analyzed stories. Ownership comes from public records and disclosures, not an automated guess.
There is no single “best” pick here. Compare the measures, follow the linked ratings and disclosures, and check whether there is enough saved data to draw a conclusion.
Crypto trade press
Disclosed owners without identified crypto-company, exchange or investor ownership come first; then lower measured filtered-content share, higher confirmed-claim share, and alphabetical order. Missing measures are not treated as zero.

How to read crypto news without getting played
- Check who owns the outlet. Look for exchange, crypto-company and investor ties.
- Look for labels. “Sponsored”, “press release” and “partner content” are not independent reporting.
- Separate evidence from claims. On-chain data, filings and official statements differ from what a company says.
- Treat price targets as opinion. “Analysts say” does not turn a forecast into an established fact.
- Compare independent accounts. Read a crypto outlet and a mainstream outlet on the same story in Crypto coverage.
How we measure this
Saved coverage counts include non-opinion crypto stories observed in CadNews's feeds over the last 30 days, not everything an outlet published. The RSS filter detects sponsored, press-release, partner-content and price-prediction labels in titles, links and feed categories. Distinct article URLs are counted once per outlet, including across its topic feeds; promotional and prediction counts do not double-count an item.
RSS percentages require at least 30 observed items. Monitoring begins on the date shown; earlier unavailable feed history is not reconstructed from the latest fetch. An absent percentage is not evidence of a clean feed. Automated labels can miss unlabeled promotion or misclassify reporting.
The hype check separates confirmed, claimed and speculation. Outlet percentages require at least 10 claims explicitly attributed to supplied articles; old analyses without structured attribution and claims naming only a company are excluded. Percentages are rounded and may not total 100%. These measures are not overall reliability scores.
CadNews compares coverage. It doesn't give investment advice or price predictions.
Frequently asked questions
What is the most reliable crypto news source?
There is no single answer or winner in this guide. Compare disclosed ownership, linked independent ratings, measured filtered RSS content and confirmed-versus-claimed-versus-speculative claims. Missing data is not proof of reliability.
Is CoinDesk biased?
CoinDesk is owned by Bullish, a crypto exchange operator. No independent rating found. Ownership is a potential conflict, not proof of biased reporting. In CadNews's last 30 days it covered 24 crypto stories. Not enough analyzed crypto stories yet.
Who owns CoinDesk?
Owned by Bullish, a crypto exchange operator. In CadNews's last 30 days it covered 24 crypto stories.
Is Cointelegraph reliable?
Media Bias/Fact Check: Mostly Factual. Ownership not listed. A rating is a starting point, not a guarantee for every story. In CadNews's last 30 days it covered 23 crypto stories. Not enough analyzed crypto stories yet.
Are crypto news sites paid to promote coins?
Sponsored posts and press releases are distinct from independent reporting. This guide measures labeled promotional items and price predictions observed in RSS feeds, not payment arrangements or the outlet's entire website. Only samples of at least 30 distinct feed items show percentages; the filter cannot establish whether an unlabeled article was paid for.
How can I tell crypto news from hype?
Check ownership and sponsored labels, follow filings, on-chain data and official statements, and separate those from company claims and price speculation. Compare crypto trade coverage with a mainstream report on the same story. CadNews's hype check separates confirmed, claimed and speculation; outlet profiles require at least 10 attributed claims.
