The long-deployed USS Lincoln is returning home to San Diego

The USS Abraham Lincoln is returning to San Diego after a deployment lasting over 300 days. Originally scheduled to return before summer, its deployment was extended twice by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth following the outbreak of war in February. The deployment included a 286-day period without a port call, during which families raised concerns about mental health and supplies. A Navy letter recently confirmed eight suicide attempts occurred during the deployment, despite initial official denials of increased suicidal ideation.
