Tesla driver using Full Self-Driving struck and killed a man crossing I-80

A 71-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a Tesla on Interstate 80 in Vallejo, California, at approximately 2:30 AM on Thursday. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed that dashcam footage showed the vehicle attempting to brake and steer to the left to avoid the individual, who was crossing from the right shoulder toward the center divider. The 26-year-old driver remained at the scene and reported that the vehicle was in Full Self-Driving (FSD) mode. Authorities believe at least one other vehicle struck the victim after the initial collision, though no other drivers stopped.
